Boron?s primary role in plants is to act as a key component in processes such as cell division, fertilization, seed set, cell wall formation and integrity, sugar transport and calcium uptake. Deficiency of boron in the soil and therefore in the plant results in abnormal growth such as apical shoot abnormalities and deformed leaves, stunted growth, poor fertilization and seed set, reduced yields and poor yield quality, especially in fruits and vegetables.
